Knowing the controls is the difference between fumbling and flowing in Trade Squishy Dumplings. The game is built on standard Roblox controls, so if you have played other Roblox experiences much of this will feel familiar. This guide covers movement and interaction on every device, plus the all-important trading board controls.
Movement controls
Getting around is the first thing to master. Controls follow the Roblox standard:
| Action | PC | Mobile | Console |
|---|---|---|---|
| Move | W A S D or arrow keys | On-screen joystick | Left stick |
| Look around | Move the mouse | Drag on the screen | Right stick |
| Jump | Space bar | On-screen jump button | A button |
| Zoom camera | Mouse scroll wheel | Pinch the screen | Right stick / triggers |
Spend your first minute simply walking, jumping and turning the camera. Comfortable movement makes everything else easier, especially positioning yourself correctly on a trading board.
Interacting with the world
To interact with objects and menus, move close and use your device’s interact input, or tap the on-screen prompt that appears when you are near something interactive. On PC this is usually a click or a key press; on mobile it is a tap; on console it is the A button. Menus such as your inventory and any codes entry box are opened with on-screen buttons that work the same across devices.
Trading board controls
This is the part unique to Trade Squishy Dumplings, and it works a little differently from clicking menus. On a trading board you walk onto buttons rather than pressing a key. The flow, straight from the game’s instructions, is:
- Stand on the trading board with another player.
- Drop the items you want to trade onto your side of the board.
- Move onto the plus (➕) button to request more items from your partner.
- Both players move onto the check (✅) button at the same time to accept the trade.
- Move onto the cross (❌) button to cancel.
Because you confirm by physically stepping onto the check mark — and both players must do it together — there is no way to be tricked into an instant confirmation. Take your time, check the offer, and only step on the check mark when you are sure. The complete trading walkthrough is in how to trade.
Device-specific tips
PC: The keyboard-and-mouse combination gives you the most precise movement, which helps when lining up on trading board buttons. Keep your hand near the movement keys during a trade so you can step onto the cross quickly if something looks wrong.
Mobile: The on-screen joystick controls movement and a button handles jumping. Because trading uses position rather than taps, give yourself a moment to move precisely onto each board button. Mobile is fully capable for both collecting and trading.
Console: The left stick moves your character and the A button jumps. Controller movement is smooth for navigating boards; just ease onto each button rather than rushing.
Controls and safe trading
Good control of your character is quietly part of scam protection. When you can move precisely, you are never forced to confirm in a panic — you can calmly step onto the cross to cancel any trade that does not match what was promised. Combine confident controls with the golden rule (judge only what is on the board when you confirm) and you will never be rushed into a mistake.
Where to go next
With the controls down, you are ready to play properly. Read how to play for the core loop and your first session, then learn the rarities so you can value what you collect. When you are ready to trade, the trading boards and how to trade guides take it from there.
